Ambassador and the President

A Message from the Special Envoy:

Warm greetings and salutations,

As the new Special Envoy on transnational crime, I am deeply honored to take on the challenge that is mandated to me and as well as our office to proactively address threats that linger along our borders. We as an office pledge to continually create, support and boost avenues for inter agency cooperation and partnership that is integral in the fight against transnational crimes.

In light of the expansion of globalization, crimes in its very essence have evolved from local to being international in character and substantially local in its consequences. The growth of illicit networks as well as continually changing practices in criminal operations have challenged the very foundations of our national security that if unmitigated from our borders, will consequently trickle down to our grassroots where unlawful activity can root its presence and increase its capability that would supplement their criminal intentions.

We pledge to commit our efforts to advance the country’s initiative to protect our borders from transnational threats through the continued efforts of the government and its agencies in policy development, forging regional and international links, inter-institution capacity building as well as other instruments and mechanisms that will be vital in our combined efforts to combat transnational crimes.

With our combined institutional initiatives, we are enthused to open a new chapter in our collaborative efforts towards a better and safer Philippines.

Yours truly,

PDDGen. Rex Derequito Piad (Ret)
